Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He blends soul gospel jazz and R&B in a distinct blend. Avery Sunshine's performances have been on Broadway as well as at various festivals across Europe as well as her appearance at the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine can be described as Denise White. She hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career playing the piano and singing in church. The musical journey began for her in Atlanta at Spellman College. The first song to feature her voice was Stalk You the Japanese version of 12 song. It has been re-mixed and is now part of her set. She also lent her voice to the music of The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage show Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, who won Tony and Grammy Awards for her vocals, asked Sunshine to join the Dreamgirls production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was noticed by all of the country during 4 performances a day during 2008's Democratic National Convention. Sunshine then went on to be requested to sing with President Barack Obama at his inauguration.
